    For people are files (work, money, sensitive info) or software, which they paid for, more valuable than a hardware and there is quite much incurable malware.
    Ransomaware, malware, which damages exe files, documents and so on. Well malware can be cleared, but infected files can not, so it can not be really cured.

    I have a cure to most malware. :D Weekly drive images kept on an offline drive starting with a fresh "clean" OS. This has saved my buttocks many times. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of malware cleaners."
