Hi all. First I must say that I looked for the solution of my problem around in this forum but I didn't found any. This is what happened:

My friend has made a backup of her documents from XP PRO with TI v11 and when she tried to restore them she found a bad surprise. All restored files and folders name were green and no one could move, copy or delete them. Then I obtained the administrator rights rebooting the system in safemode operating on properties and now we can move, cut, copy or delete all restored files(.doc, .xls, .pdf) but the name is still green and when we try to open them a message pop up saying that the file could be encrypted. Does anybody have a solution?

    Thanks in advance!

Were the files restored using TI in Windows or by booting to the TI CD?

Were the files restored into a new folder or back into the original locations?

Was the restore location inside a user folder (My Documents, for example)?

Do you still have the original backup TIB file?

    Thanks for reply.

    1.) Both two methods.
2.) In the second (logical) partition.
    3.) No.
    4.) Yes.

What build of TI 11 is being used?

Were the files originally encrypted? If the original files are available, are they colored green in XP?

Was this a files & folders (My Data) type backup and not a partition image (My Computer) backup? If it were an image backup, you could Mount it and try to get the files out that way, but it sounds like it's a files & folders type backup.

Did you restore all the files? If so, have you tried restoring a single file and seeing if you get the same problem?

    1) I don't know but there has been a virus infection. No, I have just a data backup.
    2) They are "My Data" backup. I explored the TIB file but the result is similar.
    3) I'm going to try.

Very thank you. I will give you a response of my try.

    Hello drdd66,

Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

In default restore options (Tools -> Default Restoration Options) go to File-level security settings and uncheck the box. Most probably you have restored the data under different account.

    Best regards,
