    running NOD32 v2.12.3 on w2k_sp4 behind linksys
BEFSR41 NAT, connected to roadrunner cablemodem.

imon did not autostart during installation,
but otherwise amon, dmon, nod32 scan all seem
    fine, defs are autoupdating.
I tried to "start" (initialize) imon and it took
about 5 seconds, then I got a popup that it did
successfully register with Windows, etc, and
imon seems to be running, *but* I am totally knocked
off the internet. some sort of conflict as during
imon start process as it changes my w2k IP address
from 192.168.1.100 to 0.0.0.0 (not sure yet what
else it does)(used erunt registry backup to
reset all, of course now no imon)

I am not a networking guru so need specific steps
to fix this. I did not setup this network, so
maybe it needs to be done from scratch...

note I sometimes boot this same identical hardware
in XPpro_SP2 where I have another copy
of NOD32 installed, and there is no problem, so it
seems to me like some sort of network configuration
issue on w2k. I've installed (then uninstalled)
a few other AVs in past and never had this problem.
I sent msg to nod32 techsupport, as usual it is
friday night so it may be a few days to hear from
    them.

    4 system warnings follow...

Please drop an email to support@eset.com with a link to this thread. I tried to send you a PM, but you don't have it allowed in your settings.

I'm not an expert user at wilders. not sure what you mean by "send you a PM" what a minute, light bulb just turned on, Private Message. duh? been a long day. yes, I think PM is off. meanwhile I had sent similar msg to support@nod32.com a link from FAQ suggested when imon fails. I have also send this link to both address. sometime later today, I will try running inctrl5 2-phase scan before and after I again attempt imon start and see what is happening in registry if I can pinpoint anything. also posted at GRC but so far everyone is scratching their heads. must be some network config issue that should be corrected whether or not I'm running NOD32 imon. IE is not my default browser, and OE is not default email if that should matter, but during install, first time I said use IE settings, but imon failure, so I installed 2d time using a different selection, and that's still where I'm at with this post. I suspect I will need to unravel this network setup and start over from scratch, in long run, probably a good thing, except for maxim, "if it ain't broke ..." my WAN hums along at 4 Mbit/s and rarely a problem. seems like a learning experience.

minor update nothing conclusive, nothing from suppport yet.
I have an app installed that monitors incoming mail for exe attachments, maildefense from indefense. I think it may create its own socket layer (probably not correct terminology). even though it was disabled in systray during NOD32 install, I suspect that it may be interferring with IMON install/start. I also suspect that it might be corrupted, so I am working on uninstalling it, but it is being stubborn. hopeful those techs will help me uninstall it on monday. other possible interferring culprits, LooknStop, I'm relative new using LnS currently with enhanced ruleset, not high on my list, but a maybe. wondering if DCS Port Explorer might be causing IMON install problem, or less so Process Guard. a clue from NOD32 log file in addition to the above:
"IMON Network configuration was changed and IMON failed to update the necessary settings. The network may not function properly." of course, the change to the network config was seemingly caused by attempting to start IMON. will update! meanwhile would appreciate any comments re NOD32 conflicts with other apps. thanks!
