Since installing NOD32 2.5 on my system I get a problem with svchost crashing shortly after boot up. My system doesn't lock up and everything still seems to keep working after that. No errors in PGP messaging log

I've tried changing all the compatibility settings for IMON with no effect, but the only thing that stops it happening is to disable IMON.

I also have PGP 9.06 installed with WDE hard disk encryption running. Some other people have reported this issue on the PGP Support Forums a few months ago, with no resolution. So it looks like a known problem.

Any ideas for tracking down the problem?

    Hi ntparsons, welcome to Wilders.

I would suggest repairing Winsock, then repair IMON; see post number 40 HERE

Let us know how you go...

    Cheers :D

Note that IMON must remain disabled on servers (indicated by a gray IMON icon).

thanks for your quick replies!! :) - I'm a bit wary of repairing winsock or allowing IMON to do this - reason being that PGP inserts itself into the LSP chain to encrypt/decrypt email - wouldn't this break the link and force me to reinstall PGP ?
