    I was at one point back in the late 90's a KDE addict. I would see that KDE logo with the gears in my sleep. Some time later I switched to Gnome and didn't look back. Thanks to Unity and Gnome shell I had to look at other options.

    I fixed all the KDE graphical glitches by switching to Xrender and things are as smooth as a baby's rear end. Now I have to learn about KDE all over again.

    If you knows know the best kde widgets please let me know. I'm loving KDE once again like an old girlfriend, and after I broke up with her she looks better now than when I was with her ;)

    The only thing missing in KDE is the mint menu but I do have cpu issues with it every now and then with all the caching.

    Yeah, kde is quite nice, but poor old gnome (the 3rd. iteration).

    Is this in reference to the KDE RC?

    I haven't tried it myself but I guess I should. I wish they'd spend some more time on their Debian version.

    Oh I love KDE! I also love mint! I'll have to run this in VM and see if it runs well. I hope that it's stable even though its only a RC.

    Some that don't come with Kubuntu 11.10 that are nice;

    Plasmacon
    Shelf
    Plasma PyWeather
    Service Monitor (start/stop services). Screenshot below shows me wanting to
    re-enable bluetooth which I had disabled with sysv-rc.
