I used IFW on a drive with bad clusters, Terrabyte told me, if the file system ID is a unknown type then the entire partition is done sector by sector.

I bought a smaller hard drive, now I'm in a jam, because the image is showing bigger and I can't restore it back to the smaller hard drive...

Anyone know how I can make an image with some other utility that won't do this sector by sector?

    THANKS

Have you tried creating an Image or a Copy with IFD using "Ignore IO errors"?

If your hardrives are either Seagate or Western Digital, use their free branded Acronis based drive utilities and make an image. Acronis image products don't care about the size of the receiving drive just as long as it is large enough to contain the partition contained in the image. Just a suggestion.
