    If I install IFW and then set some settings; When creating a Winpe does it save the settings I make;
    1)
    Check use new windows MBR
    Check Align partition on 2048

    Question;
    2) When would I use Write standard MBR Code ?

    Thanks

    Chris,

    Q1 Yes and Yes. Anything you select in Settings will still apply in a WinPE.

    Q2 I've never used it. The pdf says "Image for Windows does not write standard MBR code unless the MBR is empty." I assume if custom boot code is present and you want it removed when you restore an image you could use this option.

    It's the same as the WinXP fixmbr.

    I pretty much just use default options.

    Chris,

    The settings are saved in ifw.ini.

    With a WinPE you need 3 files...

    imagew.exe
    imagew.ini
    ifw.ini

    These can be on a flash drive or in the WinPE.

    If you are in a 64-bit WinPE you need...

    imagew64.exe
    imagew64.ini
    ifw.ini
