The following log was taken minutes after 2 scan & fixes. 1 by ad-aware and the second by SpyBot.

After accepting all the fixes from both programs, I still get pop-ups from offeroptimizer.com. Any assistance in removing this piece of sh*&t spy/mal/hijack ware would be appreciated.

    Hi Dennis Y II,

    Welcome to Wilders.

Download CWShredder as you will need it in a later step.

Also download LSPfix as you will need it in a later step also.

Before you start, please unzip or move HijackThis to a separate folder of its own. The program will make backups in the folder it's in. These easily get lost in a temporary folder or a folder with other programs.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {46AE04C0-BCFA-4728-90E7-00EB4A8B3863} - (no file)

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll

Run CWShredder. Be sure ALL other windows are closed and use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.

Run LSPfix. Click "I know what I am doing" and use it to remove all instance of "inetadpt.dll" and ONLY "inetadpt.dll".

There also may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:

    C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll
    c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

    Regards,
    Kent

Pieter / Kent - well I was happy to read the last post as I thought my issues might be over. When I closed IE, a second version of IE opened up with this page and subsequest redirect.

    hxxp://clicks.emarketmakers.com/redir.aspx?id=177121

    hxxp://hotbar.com/install/noInstall.asp

Then a download window opened up and asked me to accept the file: emoticons4us.exe. Of course I just closed the window. I then ran CWShredder, which said I was clean. SpyBot only came back with a dowbleclick cookie for me to delete.

    Here is the latest log.....

    Hi Dennis,

You got away with a scare this time, but read here for some pointers to stay out of trouble:

Pieter - I went to the link you sent me. However, I am not sure what I was supposed to do to get rid of the re-direct and new pop-up windows I mentioned previously.

    hxxp://clicks.emarketmakers.com/redir.aspx?id=177121

    hxxp://hotbar.com/install/noInstall.asp

If my "log" is clean and this is a different issue to address - could you direct me on how I can get rid of this issue.

    disabled links - Pieter

As long as you did not allow those to install, there is no real problem.
You can empty your Temporary Internet Files to get rid of them.

In IE, click Tools > Internet-options > on the General tab click Delete Files. In the prompt put a checkmark to delete offline content as well.

    Regards,

    Pieter
