IE7 Desktop Icon and Quick Launch

This is so aggravating. This is probably a basic question for many, but I can’t figure it out.

I just downloaded IE7 (I use FF too). But there is no Explorer icon on my desktop, and I can’t figure out how to add it to the ‘Quick Launch’ (the area on the lower left side of the screen) area.

IE7 is on my computer, but there is not a good way to start it. Right now, I go into the start menu and bring up Windows Update and then hit my homepage button…. Uugghhhh….

    Help is appreciated.

USA still the best. But barely.
For Desktop icon. Start - Programs - IE (right click - Send To - Desktop).

For ‘Quick Launch’. Drag IE icon from Desktop into quick launch bar.

    Frank,

    Another way is to

    1. right click anywhere on your desktop.
    2. Choose "properties"
    3. On the tabs at top choose "desktop"
    4. At the bottom click on "personalize Desktop"
    5. Click on the tab "General"
    6. You should now see icons that you can show on your desktop, check the ones you want it to show.

For the quick launch do as zapjb says.

Hope this is clear, my Windows is in French so I am trying to translate.

    Have a good day,

    zapjb,

Thanks for the help in the translation. It is sometimes not easy when I can't see an English version in front of me. It was nice of you to do that.

    Thanks to both of you.

This is the second time "Help from France" has helped me, and I thank him/her for being a nice board resource.

    Frank,

You are welcome, I am glad "zapjb" stepped in there with the right translation, otherwise it might have been hard to figure out.

Thanks & have a good day,
