IE using Firefox through Explorer?

    OK so sometimes I have Comodo firewall telling me that IE is trying to communicate through Firefox by using Explorer.exe (that's when I start Firefox). Has anybody else ever seen that? I have scanned my machine with every tool I have and looked at my Hijackthis log, that looks clean to me so I am 100% stumped. The Explorer.exe file I have seems like the real one to me.
