While we seldom use IE, I nonetheless tried to update to newest ver. Chased my tail around, trying to get past security apps (I think), & still no update to IE. Shut off browser hijack protection in Spysweeper, (per note at the MS site) and did likewise in Spywareguard. Seems most warnings when trying to update came from RegDefend, & ProcessGuard: I told each app to allow changes, to no avail, and I even tried PG in Learning Mode. Can't of course kill security apps, while updating online and you have to be online so MS can "validate" your OS as legit, even though I found the whole browser to d'l and tried installing offline - it still wants to be online, to "validate" my copy of the OS. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? What's preventing the update to IE 7.0?
Hello SG1 I successfully installed IE7, & I have SpywareBlaster, RegDefend, & PG. I turned PG off, set RD to disable, & had no problem. At the time of downloading IE7, I was still using ZA Pro which I also turned off. For the download NOD32 & my router's firewall were my only protection. Everything turned out fine Good Luck rico
