IDRCI.net has been unavailable for a while, is there an alternative download location for their CHX-i packet filter software? Specifically I'm looking for version 3.0, but 2.8 would do in a pinch (I heard 3.0 is free, so I'm assuming 2.8 is also... don't kill me if I heard wrong)

I'm trying to leverage my Snort rules to trigger firewall traffic blocking with SnortSam. Apart from CHX-i, only MS ISA Server (bleah) and 8signs are compatible with SnortSam on the Win32 platform. The trial version of 8signs is working for me, but I'd much rather have the raw power of CHX-i at my disposal :)

    Thanks anyone who can help.

FYI, I did a little digging and found a phone number for IDRCI and called it. This number had a voicemail system which announced it was Third Brigade. I searched and found:

    http://www.thirdbrigade.com/

Interesting... Another software security company in Canada.

When you install CHX 3.0, it gets put into a folder called "Third Brigade". But on the Third Brigade web site I didn't see any link to download CHX.

Hm, it turns out the site is still technically online, although their web server isn't handling host requests to idrci.net. You can get to the site here :http://207.61.254.180/ . Their registration form still works, and sends out product key emails.

I hope it's just a glitch, and not another case of company-gets-acquired-userbase-gets-left-in-the-dust, like what happened to Tiny users after the CA purchase. Might be a good idea to start hoarding all their software and help files ASAP, just in case :D

Since ThirdBrigade bought IDRCI, I am happy to see CHX-I is still free for personal use :D

I'm not seeing any place to register it.. does it no longer require registration?

I found the HTML help file for CHX-I 2.8 on my old back-up disks. I would like to share this with others. Is there a legal option to do this (maybe here at Wilders)?
