ID Blaster is breaking AVG7 Free. I can only presume that when AVG is installed it somehow ties itself to one of the product numbers ...... most probably Windows. Everytime ID Blaster is used, AVG7 has to be reinstalled/repaired and reupdated for it to work again (obviously without ID Blaster running).
Will Javacool be able to come up with a fix or is that pretty unlikely?
Choosing between ID Blaster and AVG ........ ooooh that's a difficult one!
Perhaps I will try Avast ...... unless anyone has a better suggestion?

    Hi,

We can rather put the question:
Why does this anti-virus stick to an identifying code of user?
And ask AVG to change that, looking as tracking and a privacy threat.

I have the same experience; installed ID Blaster and AVG notified and adviced to reïnstall AVG.
At the end: I removed ID Blaster and restored (and updated) AVG. Moreover a good readable manual about ID Blaster was needed but not found.

    greetings, Alphonse

Restoring the old ID's will make AVG work again.

Save your original ID's as 'default' and reload them before you quit ID Blaster.

But, saving the original ID is kind of cumbersome, isn't it? And, the whole idea is 'not' to go through the extra steps. I'm trying different AV's, too..

But if we change back to the original settings, what is the use of using ID blaster ? I use AVG 7.0 and the latest ID blaster. I have had to repair AVG some time back. What can be the solution other than changing the AV ?
