    Wow, pc poetry! ;)

Anyhoo, I have noticed that my nod icon doesn't appear in the systray 'til after most of my other programs (including webmon and popfile etc) Outpost and Ewido have the same problem. My question is, am I still protected despite the slow startup, or can I tweak my pc in some way in order to optimise their running?

    As always,

You could try reducing the number of programs beginning at startup to add some speed, but I think the chances of being infected by anything at startup is virtually nonexistant. If I'm not mistaken, the NOD32 kernel, or what really provides protection, is loaded almost immediately. What you might be seeing is a delay in the startup of the GUI, or what you interact with. As long as it does eventually show up, I'd say you're fine.
