I agree it would be nice to see some help here from Eset, but where do you get the idea that the holidays are overo_O Did New Year's come and go and I missed it?
Holidays aren't over until January 2, 2003. We have had one Eset employee here in the last couple of days. So we are not being totally ignored. Still, I do think the timing in releasing the long awaited beta could have been much better. But then maybe the thinking was to give us a Christmas present even if support would be scarce for a bit. We haven't done too badly in helping each other. Marti got my big problem solved and the other questions can wait for a couple more days.

I personally think beta release was not intended to be released among the family of global NOD32 users. Just take a look http://www.eset.sk/down/download.htm - it is a page for slovak users. Compare it with http://www.nod32.com/download/download.htm. Some of the "actives" put the link here and caused havoc. I can't imagine some company will release a public beta just a day before week where everybody knows most people will be home testing the software and the staff of the company will be greatly reduced.

I have to agree.I seriously doubt Eset (the main company) intended for this to be grabbed up and tested by all kinds of people worldwide at this time.I think this was a case of someone finding a link and posting it to a broader audience than was intended. It happens all the time with all kinds of products. This would explain why the timing was so bad (pre-holiday release) and why the Eset people aren't prepared to respond.

    Ladies and Gents,

Indeed this is the case. As Eset has informed us in the meanwhile, this Beta in essence has been sort of a Christmas present for Slovakian users. The fact this Beta has been in the open for others as well is no problem for Eset.

Right on spot again ;). Since the non-Slovakian speaking Eset staff isn't available due to the holidays untill after New Year, there will be (hardly) any support over here in regard to this Beta until then.

    regards.

I'm curious though why the beta on the Slovakian site was in ENGLISH if it wasn't intended for global use?

  7. :rolleyes:I intend to monitor these forum posts probably until the middle of January. If ESET doesn't at least say something about all these bugs, then I will probably go back to the Formal version of NOD32..

However, whether or not they intended it just for Slovakian users or not, They have to admit they have reports from many users (beta testers like me and you), that they can use to straighten out the product before final release..

I've HAD a taste of the HONEY! I can't wait for the bug free, final public release version of Version 2 of NOD32 !!!
Please!! When, oh when will that day come forth?

    :D :D  o_O  :p :-*

My feelings are a bit hurt that they gave a Christmas Present to the Slovakians! My "Big" American Ego is bruised! Boo Hoo Hoo.. :'( :'( :'(

    Just kidding, ESET.!!!

Guess there are English speaking Slovakians as well ;). Anyhow: if intended for global use, the Beta would have been up for download on - at least - all English distributor sites.

    Shooter,

Couldn't agree more. Although there has been a team of Beta testers, I'm convinced all those test driving the Beta and posting over here result(ed) in valuable information.

    regards.

I'm just using a trial at the moment and my 25 days are due to expire very soon. I'm still waiting for an answer regarding the invalid page fault... http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=5760 ... and some response would be nice. (I also e-mailed support at Eset on Dec. 23 - no response there, either.)

    Oh well,

    CatThief,

support will be around as of tommorow. As for the email to support: don't hesitate to forward the email to me: webmaster@wilders.org . When does your trial period expire exactly?

If necessary, a reply will be posted over on the original thread.

    regards.

    Hi Paul,

My trial expires on Jan. 4. I will send you a copy of the e-mail I sent to tech support. It describes the problem as I described it here, yet the wording may be a little different.

Thank you so much for offering your help!
