I did read the comments. I didn't see any "VT experts" there.
Apart from that, v6.24 fixed lots of security issues, as Brummelchen pointed out, so it does not make sense to use a less secure version just because some would-be "experts" said the latest version was not safe to use.

On a side note, do you need WinRAR if you can use 7-Zip, which is free? Just curious.

As others have already said this is definitely safe to use. There's no need to be paranoid. Only one scanner reports it as being malicious, while the other sixty nine say it's safe.

If the comment's are important for you for 6.23 they also not look all good. I mean JaffaC gives it a 10/10 threat Score and Joe doesn't say it's safe but 28/100.

 

thats the most common reason that VT results are not allowed in this forum, too much BS for not tech savvy readers, eg like you. but if you rely on such results, why do you need eset antivirus? same legal question to users who use an antivirus and additional second opinion scanner like MBAM.

result: forget VT for ever, and trust your used antivirus. rarlab wont release a malicious file!

me too, but i am also far away from expert, an account has some benefit, i am able to use the extended options. VT is a lot of gray and very few of black and white. in fact the unknown and very unknown antivirus are very questionable from my view. but VT is a paid service so all participants pay for being listed, but those make them not more trustfully.
Thats why i mentioned the TOS from WS here, its not my part to moan, but the mods and admin have reason why they wont see it here.

i also was a (free) member of VB which ofc had benefit for more insights when i needed it.
