i need help in accessing some folders

    how do i get access to "C:\system volume information"?
    i logged on as admin and it still says "access is denied".

    That's the System Restore area on Windows XP, which is a protected area that is not meant to be manipulated on the individual file level. Windows manages that area itself. The only option you have is to turn it on and off, or have Windows cleanup purge out all but the last restore point.

    Often when people ask about that folder it is because they have a virus alert warning them of a piece of malware stored in that area. The only proper way to remove such a file is to cycle or purge System Restore in order to have it delete all restore points, which would remove the infected file at the same time.
