Actually the first launch of it is slowest. Once it is prefetched, it loads OK.

For anyone that use OpenOffice, I urge you to try the project fork caleed Go-OO, which I linked to earlier. It is a lot better than the default OOO builds. Load times are drastically improved, as well as a semi-facelift, and greater compatability. I'm glad I found it. It's definitely a keeper.

Is it compatible with MS Office? I mean the documents by MS Office can be open by it and vice versa?

Also is there any portable version of it? OpenOffioce does has!

    Thanks

Go-oo is based on OpenOffice so compatibility should be about the same. However Go-oo can also open DOCX files (and maybe other Office 07 filetypes?) iirc.

I dont know of any portable version, sorry.

I tried Go-oo, and on my system infact it,s slower than OpenOffice, probably due to the absence of speed launch itself.

That is correct. It can open MS Office 07 files.

I cannot confirm this. It is pretty much exactly the opposit on my system, with or without Java being used.
