Trying to find sources for the latest Hurricane Irma computer models but all I get in search results are weather sites which mark the projected path with a big cone or click here to load ads, "news sites" that I try to avoid like the plague.
Thanks ronjor, that's what I've been looking for, I live in the Florida panhandle so this concernes me greatly, if these models are correct and Hurricane Irma's northerly path is further to the west than the previous forecasts have predicted, the eye could remain over the gulf all the way up to the Panhandle, I guess we will know by tomorrow... https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/11L_tracks_latest.png
Here's a good one: https://www.windy.com/?28.304,-78.970,5 choose the model in the lower right corner; choose the day along the bottom
@RockLobster You can animate or drag that timeline (select smaller increments than a day by clicking anyware on it).
I actually have my degree in meteorology if you would like i can create a short screen capture of the different models showing the path. there are 3 main models unfortunately the site doesnt allow gif creation https://youtu.be/IyeHCbo7BYI
It sure is, Hawki. I found my moms home address in Miami. She is going to find the link to the site in her mail when she wakes up early in the morning with the search term to easily find her street. Bo
Interesting new "unofficial" term for my vocabulary. The Florida Panhandle aka Northwest Florida or West Florida, according wikipedia: Spoiler: Panhandle
Do you really ? I have always found meteorology to be a fascinating subject and those are very professional looking weather animations, you ought to be on TV!!
Sending all my very best wishes to all, around the globe, who were and are suffering from all those hurricanes and water flooding. Wherever you may be in this world, you are in our thoughts!
Thanks Ron for the link to the loaded website. It will come in mighty handy for me living here on the Virginia Beach coast during the peak of hurricane season.
