    Hi All,

Does anybody know what HTGD0007.exe is and does?

A WinOptimizer 2008 DiskSpace Explorer scan turned it up. It has a file size of 152KB and www.prevx.com says it is yet to be classified as a security threat or otherwise.

Googling it only turns up the prevx.com site, otherwise there is no info.

    Best regards - eljay.

Did you try locating the file, right-clicking on it, selecting "properties", and looking for the file version/manufacturer etc?
Sorry if that seems obvious, but it may provide some more info to narrow your investigation.

Firstly, sincere apologies to all forums for the multiple posting.
I had an important financial transaction to make yesterday and was spooked by the classification at www.prevx.com, hence the need to try and get some swift idea as to whether it was safe to proceed.
In the event I felt it best to resort to other means.
Properties shows no authorship, version or any other identifying detail, but does indicate that the file was last accessed on 29 September 2008.
I would like to understand why it is just sitting on the C:\drive, rather than being in a folder that would relate to something else.
I have scanned it with Kaspersky Internet Security 2008, which appears to have no issue with it.
My thanks to all for their input.
