My father is looking for a new and good ISS Suite for his Win XP PC. He's heard from a talk back PC show on a radio Station that Trend Micro ISS 2010 is very good and if some one is interested in getting a good ISS for their XP desktop than this is the one to go for.

Also how does this compare to ESET NOD32 ISS ?

Why you are using firefox 2.06, when there is already 3.6 or 3.5.8 or 3.0.18 is available?

Because he also uses Opera 9.5 and IE7 - I think his signature is out of date :)

Without an up-to-date Browser it's absurd to talk about security products :D

I would take Norton 360 4.0 rather than TMISS. :D

    From 1 to 10 , I give Trend Micro -2 (minus 2)

    Verbal : very very poor

Have a look at Norton IS or Kaspersky IS

Show your father the latest tests from AV-Comparatives , VB or AV-Test - Trend is low low ... down

You are still correct . Up to date browser has nothing to do with how good OR bad Trend Micro may be .

In my opinion Trend Micro ISS 2010 will protect you. I'm against most opinions on this thread and say buy it. To me, Trend micro has one of the best, if not the best smart network protection with respect to its web reputation analysis, not even Norton Safeweb can do better, at least not now. If anyone doubt me you could try their web protection add-on for about 90 days and do not be afraid to venture to the dark side of the web.

Needless to say that you will be fully protected. I tested the product myself and I can highly recommend it.

Go for it my friend if you like Trend Micro buy it, you will be well protected. :thumb:

    Thanks.

Good Evening ! I've been testing Trend Micro ISS Pro for the last two weeks and so far have nothing but praise for the product. It's a breeze to set-up and implement. Haven't experienced any slow downs while surfing or time-outs. It's based on Trend Micro's cloud technology for updates and consistency. The only difference between the Pro version and standard Security Suite is the pro version has a few tools you can access such as System Tuneup a registry file cleaner and trend vault a secure device that protects your most valuable info.It also features parental controls which apparently are quite effective. It's spam filtering i've also found to be very accurate, and the firewall doesn't bombard you with obscure pop-ups and messages. But most important to me is it's malware protection which is much improved over the previous version. And in summation I would highly recommend the product. In your case the regular Security Suite would be perfect for your Dad's computer. And it's roughly twenty dollars more affordable than the pro version. Trend also has authorized third party vendors that allows you to surf and save and reap savings of ten to twenty percent off. That way I was able to purchase the Pro version at only six dollars more than the basic Security Suite. All the best...and before committing yourself try the 30 day trial period. Sincerely...Securon

Please search the tests for TMISS.

You will not find many. TMISS is mainly for US markets, IMO.

If you like, buy it. :D

Without delving into the A vs B here, the capital sin at Wilders Security :D. I could tell you that, in my knowledge, ESET lacks cloud and reputation analysis protections with regard to web and file reputation analysis. Maybe Eset Smat Security 5 will provide these features soon. However, in fairness to Eset Smart Security, Eset does have good heuristics.

To give you some comfort please read the following testing report: http://nsslabs.com/host-malware-protection/consumer-anti-malware.html

    Please register first.

Now the good news is that TrendMicro will participate in the next Av-comparatives tests. In terms of dynamic testing I think that Trend Micro will do well.

    Thanks.
