is this the case even in the following scenario:
. source drive: 150gb in size, 60gb used
. destination drive: 70gb in size, able to be completely wiped

    Hello eqd,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Yes, your scenario will work with "Disk Clone" wizard. If you choose "Automatic" mode of cloning the partitions from the source drive will be resized proportionally on the target one (in your case each partition will reduce almost to half of its original size). In "Manual" mode you will be able to resize the partitions on the new drive in the way you need.

    Thank you.

Since this forum tends to mostly see disparaging remarks, I just want to note that I used Disk Clone on Friday, when I got my new SATA drive (which is twice the size of my last drive), and it worked beautifully. It changed the proportions easily and copied everything over quickly and painlessly, taking a total of about 30 mins from taking the screws off the case to putting them back in. It seems like every time I use TI, I become more pleased with it. :)
