How to kill drop-down in Opera's search box

    When I start typing in the Opera 12 search box a drop-down opens. It's not search suggestions, but it's the same menu you get if you click the arrow next to the icon. I disabled Auto Dropdown in opera:config but that only seems to effect the address bar. Anyone know a trick to stopping this annoyance? Thanks.

    Do you mean this dropdown?

    if not, explain "next to the arrow" or where exactly is the dropdown.

    I figured out a way around it. I removed the search box from the toolbar and use the address box for searches. You type y for Yahoo or g for Google, etc., and then the keywords. No dropdown. :)
