You ought to give Google Play a go if you like Spotify. No desktop app to install (and the Spotify app is notoriously crappy). Less social features, but cheaper if you sign up by June 30th (8 bucks compared to 10) and close to the same amount of music plus you can upload up to 20k of your own stuff to it.

Thanks for posting this, I've wanted to have Spotify on Linux for a few years and can finally give it a go in an easier way.

 

Thanks for the suggestion Mman79. I would like to give it a try, but they ask for my credit card number... i'll stick to Spotify.
