I tried to import a blocking list I found online but I don't know how it works.

What I've done so far is:

    1. Save the list into notepad with the extension ".txt"

    2. Save it into SpywareBlaster's directory C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster

    3. Loaded SpywareBlaster

    4. Clicked on TOOLS

    5. Click on CUSTOM BLOCKING

    6. Once the list loaded up, right-clicked in the text box and clicked SELECT ALL from the popup menu...And here's where I got stuck! Nothing happened.

Could anyone finish this sequence for me??

    Thx :)

I tried that list but I get stuck in the section I just referred to in my first post.

    Something isn't working.

Sure, the one linked above ;)

Did you click the "PROTECT AGAINST CHECKED ITEMS" button after SELECT ALL?

The problem I have is that the list I have saved under the extension ".txt" won't load up at all. Even though I followed to the letter the instructions given:

    1. Save it in SB directory
    2. Ensure there are no blank lines at the beginning of the file
    3. Ensure there are two blank lines at the end of the file only
    4. Ensure there are no 'trailing spaces' (extra blank spaces) at the end of any line in the file.

    I'll try one more time.

    Huh?

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    OK. I'm back. Problem fixed.

    Here's what I did wrong:

What is shown in Dak's website is technically incorrect, even though he says not to keep any gaps at the beginning of the page. But he forgets to specify what gap is that: the one related to "Header" or the one referred to "0":

Initially I kept that gap that's why the list never loaded up itself.

So here's what that list should look like when saved in notepad:

dak's list has always worked for me, but some people have had problems with it, before.. i just copy-n-paste it, using "notepad" (and name the file "customblocking.txt")..

i had a problem with one of the killbits that was "recently" added to dak's list.. it was "ezula variant #3".. with that killbit installed, i had problems with video games that use "virtual machine"..

here is the webpage with the game that i use for testing..

    http://www.breumelhof.nl/emulationroms/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,59/

with the killbit installed, the game would still run, but everything was v-e-r-y slow..

The 'Custom Blocking List' instructions have always been followed here and I've never experienced any problems. But I've never tested to see if it works without the gap in question.

In his instructions the author is very specific about having no gaps at the top of the list but the poster has removed a gap from within the list. And that made it work? Well I'll be gapped!:)

Yeah it'll take time but eventually the question needs to be asked in an appropriate thread otherwise they might not get read at all because We do care :D

Hey, I do care! What I meant was I don't care that you had to move the post to the right place!

    Thanks for doing your job!:thumb:

Good to hear that with some of you keeping that gap works fine. But in my case it didn't work so I had to get rid of the gap in order to successfully load the custom blocking list.

I guess, each to its own.

    :)
