I am using TrueImage to copy files with their permissions from one stand alone computer to another. I understand file permissions are associated with users through an SID.

I plan to recreate the same user names on the destination computer but the SIDs won't match anymore.

What's the process to fix the SIDs so that the same user permissions are retained on the new computer for each user? I know how to do this manually through file explorer but there are tens of thousands of files amd hundreds of folders and so I would like to automate the process.

    Hello salama,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

Please try to restore the files once again selecting "Set the options manually" at Choose Restore Options window -> File level security settings -> unmark "Restore files preserving their security settings" box. After that please follow the Wizard instructions.

    Thank you.
