A friend of mine has one of those FBI pay a fine virii and I see that his antivirus definitions have not been updated for awhile.

I can't get online on his computer so I was going to download it through mine, put it on a memory card and update it that way,
Is that doable and if so, how do I do it? I can't even find a way to update the definitions/download directly from the site.

I have a three person license by the way and he's one of them.

He's got 5.0.94.0 and latest definition he's got is 6484 and considering mine is 7367, I'm thinking it's been awhile since he updated (for some reason).

He's log's got a buttload of entries saying that an error occurred while downloading update files. Mind you, the first such message was on 5/10/2012 so it's not that long ago...?

    Thanks

    George

you cannot do that unless you have the business edition- where you can create the offline mirror - you also cannot import them into v5 home edition because that feature is not available in home edition either...

    Thanks.

IF it finds anything, what happens? Does it remove it automatically? Do I have to interact in some way?

Yes. If something is found, it will be removed.

    Hello,

In addition to the suggestion about using the ESET Rogue Application Remover, you may want to consider making an ESET SysRescue disc on your computer and using it to scan the system.

    Regards,
