How to configure torcc in TOR?

    please give me instructions how to configure a torcc in tor..i have exitnodes that i want to use but im having difficulty on how to build a torcc

    Hi jenny214,

    You need to read the man page for Tor Tor Manual. Look at the file for your platform (Windows, Mac or Linux/Unix) the locations of which are documented for each in the man page.

    Locate ExitNodes node,node,… in the man page for the information you need.

    I would suggest using Kubuntu 10.04.1 LTS with Tork as a graphical user interface (to specify the Exit nodes which are drag and drop - although I do not know if a particular ip4 digit address can be specified unless it is graphically selectable and the same ip address you wish to specify) along with the polipo proxy - however, I do not know if you are a Linux/Unix user.

    Also, look at the Tor Wiki for information Tor Wiki.

    Apparently, you will need to restart Tor after editing the torrc or send it a HUP signal rather than restart it. See the section entitled:
    "I'm supposed to "edit my torrc". What does that mean?"
