The only contact with the internet that I want my Windows 7 computer to have is to update periodically the same single file on the web via Dropbox. How can I achieve maximum internet security by blocking, as much as possible, other interaction with the web, particularly input from the web? Some security packages such as McFee allow one to block certain kinds of input. Is there any program that allows one to block all, or virtually all, input?

Blocking all inbounds? Windows 7 FW can be configured for that purpose.

Disable your wired or wireless adapter.

Probably simplest way is to only whitelist the Dropbox application on your firewall and block everything else. You could also try specifying only their server IP's for you web browser or the Dropbox program.

i think PeerBlock would work pretty good for this. set it to block all ranges then when you have outgoing to DropBox it will blink red as its blocking and then just right-click and whitelist that IP permanently. All other IPs are still blocked.
