    Hi subratam,

We keep our eyes open for potential new moderators all the time, and not just here but in the some other forums that we frequent. We watch what people post, how they act online, how helpful they are to others, and also what technical skills they may have. (There are different roles here and they require different skills. Not all roles are technical in nature, but some are.) Then based upon our staffing needs at that time, we approach a person we think would be a good fit and ask if they want to join the team.

So, it isn't related to volume of posts or even how long someone has been a member here, as long as the person appears to be a good fit with the team and the board needs.

In my opinion the requirements to be a Moderator in this place are: 1. be serious but not too serious, 2. be silly but not too silly, 3. be patient, and then when your patience has finally run out, be even still more patient! ;)
