I'm very lazy when it comes to updating software but I still do it when I'm alerted upon by news/forum posts/sites that tells me so. I also consider how critical I think the update is...if it's not major enough and it's not a tool that I use in my day-to-day computing, then I'll just ignore it and wait for the 'next wonderful release' Usually I avoid releases in which others has already commented to be buggy/problematic...a 'wait and see' approach one might call it. But I'm a normal man - I can be irresponsible too at times and load pre-release software just for the fun of getting the 'taste of the latest'.
