I pay $30/month for *advertised* DSL 11mbs (download speed) on a 1-year special deal that that I have used for 11+months. Next month, I have to seek & bargain & threaten & cajole. Sigh :doubt:

NOTE: the 11mbs clocks at only 7+ to 9+ mbs from Hawaii to most points in USA (per THIS tester).

    I pay around $38 for 8Mb Down/ 1Mb Up ISP Telia Sonera!

But I can get 100Mb Fiber for $48 if I want :p , But right now I don't got any need for that speed.

But soon I will upgrade to 10MB Down/ 1Mb UP! For same price $38 :D

Not a lot of dependable options where I live. :(

We have other options, but one requires LOS to a cell tower, that is out.
Another DSL provider I have heard nothing but complaints over outages.
Another I am looking in to is CATV, but I've heard complaints on service and outages.

My current ISP is upgrading lines and equipment. I'm sticking them for a while longer (been with them for 6 years) before making a change (requiring a two year contract) with another. Their service is nothing short of outstanding and can't remember the last time I lost the line. Reason I am at such a low speed is distance between me and the CO, this is the best we could work out without dropping out.

When I started with them it was ₱2000 ($42.87) per month @ 256, they were the only game in town excluding dialup. Note: That was 2004, exchange rate was ₱55 to $1, now it's ₱43 to $1. Over time it increased up to 2m at the same price. I then moved, after much trail and error I had to down grade to my existing speed.
