I travel by motor home 6 months of the year and carry a laptop with me. While at my home base I use a desktop. I keep these two computers synched. How many subscriptions do I have to buy since only one computer is used at a time.

It doesn't matter if only one computer is being used at a time. If you're using TI on a computer you need to have a purchased copy of TI for that computer. In your case, you'd need two copies.

    Hello Wingrider and MudCrab,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup software

We'd like to inform you that according to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per each machine it will be installed on.

If you have any further questions concerning our software, please submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will do our best to help you as soon as possible.

    Thank you

    Eugene,

This is not what has been said before. Here you are saying that one license is needed for each machine that TI will be installed on. This is not correct as I understand it.

If this is so, then one could install the program on 1 computer and use the Rescue CD on 20 other computers without breaking the agreement.

Previously, it was said that you needed a license for each computer that you used TI on. That would mean that if you used the TI Rescue CD on a computer that you would need a license for that computer even if the program was not installed on the computer. If you installed TI on 1 computer and used the Rescue CD on 20 other cmputers, then you'd need to purchase 21 copies of the program.

Yes, indeed, Mudcrab. The word installed is very dangerous in this context.

I found this posting interesting and attempted to find the licensing agreement. Searching the Acronis site I have not been able to find it. Going to the purchase options I see where you can select the number of licenses that you want but that's about all. Does anybody where this is?

    Hello all,

Please note that answer provided by Eugene is not correct. The correct answer (as was noticed by MudCrab and seekforever) is "You should purchase one copy of Acronis program per each machine it will be used on." This statement including using Acronis Bootable Rescue Media on computer, so if you're going to use this media without installation of the software on this computer then you should purchase a license for this computer too.

Please accept our apologies for the misinformation.

Bruce Mahnke, you can find Acronis License Policy at the very beginning of every User Guide for Acronis software.

    Thank you.

The license is stated at the start of the User guide. For ATI 11, among other things, it says:

"2. The Original Purchaser may use the Software on a single computer owned or leased by the Original Purchaser. You may not use the Software on more than a single computer even if you own or lease all of them without the written consent of Acronis."

You can get user guides from the Acronis webiste here:

    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/

There is also a link to that page on the home page:

Thank you all. I found it in the User Guide. Guess I kept passing over it. The answer is as I expected and is what I understood in the past.

    Thanks again.
