How many signatures are there in ESET database ?

    I would like to know the answer of this question :

    How many signatures are there in ESET database ?

    for example Kaspersky database contains 2168864 signatures

    Why are you interested in this figure? It tells you nothing. You can't simply compare number of signatures because each vendor uses different method of compilation of virus databases. The lesser amount of signatures doesn't automatically mean the lower protection.

    Exactly. The number of signatures would only matter if each unique sample was detected by a unique signature.

    If i'm not mistaking it would very difficult to come up with an exact number because they use behavioral signatures. 1 behavioral signature could possible detect thousands of viruses. That's why they are not answering your question. There's no true number they can give you.

    I doubt the OP would be happy with even that solution, the list only goes back to 12/16/05, Eset has been in business since the mid 90's, so there are quite a few years missing still :blink:
