There are currently only two engines in HMP - Bitdefender and Kaspersky.
How many AV engines would you like to see in Hitman Pro? Please state why would you think so.

For me it is not a question about how many engines Hitmanpro has, it's more a question about, what combination of engines they put together

8 is not enough, just look at HerdProtect and VirusTotal. :D

Quality triumphs over quantity. Optimize instead of adding unnecessary complexity. I'd pick 2 good engines over 80 flappy ones anytime.

    by av-comparatives file detection test

    number 1) Avira , G DATA, F-Secure

i really want to see F-secure in hitman pro

in the over all test F-secure was number 1 in file detection and false positive.

and to every one who want to see Emsisoft in hitmanPro the reason their kick the Emsisoft from the software is because Emsisoft use Bitdefender signatures.

i hope them at least added 1 more engine to Hitman. Pro F-secure or AVAST or Avira can be great options

Emsisoft doesn't only use BitDefender signatures. If they're kicked out because of that, G Data and F-Secure shouldn't qualify.

I think they have traditionally had 4 different engines so they should go with that.

I figured 199 engines is greedy.

Actually increasing the number of engines would also likely to increase false positives, which is very bad. A small number of quality engine is better than a large number of engines which have lesser quality. So I'd go with 3 - 4.

they will see slow down in selling i think,
because like i was saying 2 engines don't seems to average consumer a good deal

baidu is free anti virus and this product have 2 engine [3 with could]

i hope them will added at least 1 more.

I think Noob is right on track.

I voted 5 because I believed the original intent of HMP was to package a second opinion scanner that was a compilation of (at least) a handful of good quality engines.
To see them now using only BitDefender and Kaspersky gives me the impression that they are losing engines due to payment problems.
Perhaps there was some overlap, but does anyone believe that Dr Web, Emsisoft Anti-Malware, G Data and IKARUS were dropped due to lack of quality?

Why make your comparison between a few good versus many bad? Why not compare a few good to many good? In other words, two good engines versus five good engines. Which would you pick then?
