    Hi,

I have been using SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 under Windows 95. I update periodically, and had about 9000 items in the database. Then, today, I updated and it said a new SpywareBlaster was available.

The instructions said to Disable All Protection, uninstall 3.5.1, then install 4. I did what it said, only to discover that SpywareBlaster 4 wont run under Windows 95. It requires Windows [NT] 4.1 or later.

So, I re-installed 3.5.1 (I always keep the .exe files for just this occasion), but now I only have 5246 items in the database. Check for Updates doesn't update, but only tells me a new SpywareBlaster is available.

How can I get back the 4000 items missing from the database?

    Many thanks,
    Martin

    Hi,

SpywareBlaster 4.0 supports Windows 98 or later. Unfortunately, this does indeed mean the latest version will not run (or install) on Windows 95.

The last version of SpywareBlaster that runs on Windows 95 is 3.5.1.
To update your database to the last protection available for that version, please see the following instructions:

The above method is only recommended for Windows 95 users.

    Best regards,

Excellent. I now have 9535 items in the database.

SpywareBlaster is the third program I have tried to install that doesn't support Windows 95 in as many weeks, so I guess it is time to upgrade.

    Thanks to all at Javacool.

    Regards,
    Martin
