Bad move ………. I remember back when the LifeLock founder would taunt hackers by challenging them the to hack him personally. And that is just what they did. The last thing a corp. needs to do is to "wave the red flag" in regards to retaliatory actions. No one is able to sustain a coordinated and target business attack without major negative operational effects. Stick with the "best offense is a strong defense" approach. The attacker will give up and search for other more vulnerable targets. What I do support is a coordinated law enforcement and business approach where any punitive action is done by law enforcement. Businesses are lacking in this area for fear of public disclosure and the impact that may have. Also the introduction of much longer prison sentences and extensive forfeiture of property and financial assets against those convicted. And since the Internet is worldwide, nations must join to combat this epidemic. Finally there is the issue of existing financial mechanisms that encourage criminal activities such as Bitcoin and the like.
Well, hacking back can be fun. And it provides gainful employment to those who might otherwise be hacking in. So a win-win, no?
