o_O Hello from sunny North Carolina!
I'm new to this computer stuff so please bear with me whilst I "learn myself"
I downloaded ' hijack this' but what showed up was a page with a lot of square boxes and assorted strange symbols.(what is that stuff )
I have tried to find a way to unzip? this thing by reading through the forum and looking for FAQs to no avail, so as a last resort I thought I'd ask. Please help. I seem to have bolexed up this machine with spyware and probably some kind of browser hijacker in that it doesn't work like it used to.
I have already installed 'spybot sd' and ' spywareblaster' plus 'spywareguardblaster'
I've learned a lot by reading these forums, thanks for all the help.

    hey yeahdo
    welcome to wilders, mate :)
    take it simple.... go slow
Open the download ZIP file to extract the HijackThis program from within.
    - If you can't open the ZIP file, you'll need to get an unzipping tool such as this one.
    Run HijackThis.exe
    Press "Scan" button.
When done the "Scan" button will change to "Save Log", press that.
Save the log as a text file.
copy and paste the contents of this log to a post here.

go slow... i say again... and if you think you have some problems... just visit thisthread and we will be happy to help you out :)

    thx

That's a clean log; you may want to have Hijack This fix the following item, but other than that you're good to go. :)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LoadQM] loadqm.exe

    Cheers,
