There is a daily scan scheduled by default, but if you want a different schedule, such as weekly, you'll need to get the paid version.

You may be able to use windows task scheduler to perform weekly scans ,by inputting the scan path in the properties of the scheduled task. For instance a complete scan path is "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\avgw.exe" /TEST=2

If you make the scheduled task it will show "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\avgw.exe" but just add the /TEST=2 in the properties box and it should perform the scan.I use AVG SS and this method works so i see no reason why it shouldnt for the free.Let me know if it does or doesnt.
