    Hi Blazy!!! :)

do you have any comma in the file name? You might be able to zip it but not open it. Also make sure you don't have another "zip program" interfering.

    Look here: zip and unzip

    Hi Blaze,

    Does this help:

    http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/996/

    Quote:

    Disable Compressed Folders (Windows Me/XP)
Windows Me and XP include a built-in feature to manage compressed ZIP files and folders. This tweak allows you to disable it and install a third-party application.

To disable the compressed folder feature click on Start -> Run and enter the following command:
    regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll

To enable ZIP folder support run this command:

    regsvr32 zipfldr.dll

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

    - end quote -

But maybe you have already tried that.....

I use Winzip and Winrar. I prefer Winrar. You can password protect your files and hide the contents. Winzip has no option to hide the filename.
Winrar is testing a new beta here
