how do i disable procguard to reinstall it

After system restore, procgaurd disappeared, and when I found it, it no longer was the registered version. When I tried to reinstall my product code it will not let me. So I uNchecked 'protection enable' and tried to re-download, but it keeps telling me procguard is still running. How do i shut it down?

Before you redownload you should make sure the previous version is uninstalled. You did well to uncheck 'protection enabled' and you should try to uninstall it from the start menu if it is listed at all or from add/remove programs. At this stage I would also try to do it in safe mode.

If that fails then you should do it through the registry, but somebody else will have to advise you (also check the sticky section about upgrades, you might have to manually delete some files in C:\WINDOWS\system32 ).
