How do I undo the encryption of my router that was encrypted and hijacked by some resident of the building (perhaps by accident)?

Hitting the reset button does not work.

    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

    Have you tried 30/30/30 reset

If the above does work for you, I suggest that you secure your network properly next time:
WPA2-AES w/ a generated password with 20+ symbols, also check if your router supports "remote administration" and disable it.
Changing the router login password to something stronger is a must.
