Whether you don't have one yet because of market share and/or "already secure" notion, in my book, that's no excuse. I mean you have to prioritize, I get it.

But here's the deal: BlackBerry 10 is coming out. 'Nuff said.

No but seriously, you got to make a WSA for BB10. Everyone is looking back at RIM now...even some of the more stubborn doubters.

Let me give you a quick run-down on the truth:

The notion that BlackBerry is limited as a platform is...

    * Over-exaggerated for the best of the OS6 devices
    * Not true anymore at all for OS7 devices
    * Hilariously, epicly false to epic proportions for BlackBerry 10!!!

Oh that's right...no version for that either.

If I thought of that I would have worded my OP differently because I'm so used to dealing with vendors that have a version for all except BlackBerry.

I don't think anyone is writing malware for blackberry devices.

Irrelevant. I want protection from targeted attacks.

No platform is perfect. While BlackBerry is so secure it bests just about every other platform, I still use an AV on mind. And I long to replace that AV with a more polished one, like Webroot.

Yes, not very much it appears, but they are increasingly doing so: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08/08/zeus_comes_to_blackberry/

and may focus more on BB10 OS when it appears. I agree with STV0726, and would love to have WSA on my smartphone and PlayBook, and haven't seen an AV presently on the market that I'd wish to install.

Very very small amount. I would say that a better idea would be for BB-RIM to update their phone automatically with a signature based script in-built to detect the very very few that their possibly are.

But that would discourage vendors like Webroot from developing from BlackBerry.

I'm trying to encourage that. BlackBerry OS is there now. The excuses are gone. Develop for BlackBerry.

EDIT: I'm not saying RIM shouldn't do that...that's also a great idea so kudos to that. I'm saying do that, PLUS have Webroot make an AV. Defense in depth for the win.
