Please help. I just registered with you and I am pretty new at this and try to be computer literate, but I'm not to up on the technical lingo, so please go easy on me;) I am having a problem and I think Spywareblaster was supposed to help with this but it has not. Each and everytime I log on to the computer, my homepage is changed. It is such a hassle to have to go to Internet Options each time to change it back to what I want. It is always changed to this address: www.searchv.com/w/
Could you please try to help me with getting this problem fixed. Isn't spyware blaster supposed to stop this from occuring?

Thank you very much in advance!!

    Hi kelcal,

The option HardCore mentioned is the most likely one. If that doesn't help or you don't know how to do that, please follow these instructions:
Please go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/, and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log as a .txt file, and copy and paste its contents into your next post.

Most of what it lists will be harmless, so do not fix anything yet.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    O4 - Global Startup: MSupdater.exe
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present <= optional

O9 - Extra button: MktBrowser (HKLM)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: MarketBrowser (HKLM)

    O16 - DPF: {75D1F3B2-2A21-11D7-97B9-0010DC2A6243} (SecureLogin.SecureControl) - http://secure2.comned.com/signuptemplates/ActiveSecurity.cab

    O19 - User stylesheet: c:\windows\system.css (file missing)

    Then reboot and delete:
    MSupdater.exe

The one I listed as optional is probably a setting you altered yourself in Spybot S&D under Immunize. I advised to remove it because it offers no real protection against hijackers and is a nuisance if you want to change the settings yourself.

    That should do it.

    Regards,

    Pieter
