After running both the Cookie Blaster and the Temp IE Cleaner and then doing the reboot to clear the index.dat for both these locations, I then ran Winspy to have a look at what was left.

Indeed... the index.dat was then clean... no entries at all. I think that Winspy shows only the content of the Temp Int Files index file in the tab it says is Index.Dat.

However... I then looked in the URL History of Winspy and saw loads of entries going back many days even though I only have I days worth of history set to be kept in my history folder.

So... am I right in thinking that there are 3 different index.dat files and that MRU Blaster only cleans out the cookie and temp int files and leaves the history index file intact, and it is the contents of this that I am seeing in Winspy URL History.

If this is so... could not a Plug-In also be provided to completely clean out all remnants of the history of URL's etc.

Or is there another way to do this.

There is a wonderful program called Spider.
    http://www.fsm.nl/ward/
It will, after your set the right settings, inspect, show and remove the hidden URL's in your index.dat file!

Very easy to use, not even nescessary to install, only unzip.

And all along it was thought that MRU-Blaster actually cleaned the URL history! It is understood the primary idea of this application is to erase the Most Recently Used files.

Javacool - can you enhance MRU-Blaster to clear all the URL history?

    Thank you.
