Hello, all. I'm new to the forums, but I'm familiar with Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and HijackThis. I followed the prescribed procedure on your forums for cleaning everything up, first using Ad-Aware and then running HijackThis (v1.97.7).

The essential problem on this desktop computer is that it was flooded with homepage/searchpage hijackers, popups, spyware, and the like. I've included the HijackThis log file below, and I genuinely appreciate you all looking over this for me and helping me out.

    Thanks!

    Hi JBAdams101,

    Welcome to Wilders.

Download CWShredder as you will need it in a later step.

There also may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

    Then reboot into safe mode.

Before you start, please unzip or move HijackThis to a separate folder of its own. The program will make backups in the folder it's in. These easily get lost in a temporary folder or a folder with other programs.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E3EF7BA1-8B83-F5AA-BDBD-D3656AF3DE20} - C:\windows\system\jdegftwk.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D496BAEC-2CF2-D2CB-A4FE-85385F53DFFD} - C:\windows\system\hdpabxit.dll
    O2 - BHO: Clear Search - {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000240} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\CLEARSEARCH\IE_CLRSCH.DLL (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [csvbiupa] C:\WINDOWS\rjtkxssw.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AOREH] C:\WINDOWS\AOREH.exe

Run CWShredder. Be sure ALL other windows are closed and use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.

    Now delete the following files:

    C:\windows\system\jdegftwk.dll
    C:\windows\system\hdpabxit.dll
    C:\PROGRAM FILES\CLEARSEARCH\ <-- entire folder
    C:\WINDOWS\rjtkxssw.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\AOREH.exe

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

    Regards,
    Kent
