hijacklog

Hi all,

I ran adaware & spybot prior to this log. I was having excessive popups and tonight my cd drive popped open unannounced and up flashed a nasty sounding message about viruses and hijackings, etc.

Any help you can gice is most appreciated and welcome.

Hi again,

I removed the one offending item as you recommended.

I then clicked on the Sophos link and read the information on Trojan Cult-B. As far as I know this virus isn't on my computer, but I'm not clear on what the exact symptoms are and how to be sure one way or the other.

Thanks for any further help you can give. It's late, and I'll check in the morning for next steps.

I don't see P2P Networking when I go into add/remove programs in the control panel.

Fixed the offending item in HijackThis and deleted the P2P folder in c/windows... as instructed. I rebooted and ran this new log. How does it look?

I notice there is a line that references wuauclt.exe. I thought this might be related to Trojan CultB??

Hmm. I can't see the startup entry for that one.

In HijackThis click Config > Misc Tools > generate Startuplist
That will produce a text file. Post the content, please.
