    help i uninstalled my first defence not it wont go back on? error or soemthing? can i put xp disc in make sure all my files r ok what do i type start run with disc in?? not sure y it wont install?? MD :mad:

    You might want to make sure that all of the original program is actually gone before you try to get it to install again. You might try ccleaner or one like it to get all of the remnants out.

    I'll post later on the details, but I can tell you none of the cleaners will get rid of the stuff.

    PS What operating system. I know you have to be running NTFS.

    Hi Maddawgz

    First let me be sure I understand your problem. I am assuming you tried to do an uninstall leaving a snapshot in place, and the uninstall failed. Now when you try and reinstall it fails. I had this happen and can tell you what you have to do.

    Let me know if I am right, as if so sfc /scannow won't be of value, nor will any of the "cleaners"

    Also are you using XP Home, or XP Pro.
