Hi Maisarah_87, What version did you try to install?

Please uninstall processGuard in safe mode. To get to Safe mode click F8 a few times after your pc diagnostics have run and just before windows loads.

Using windows explorer navigate to your windows\system32\drivers folder and delete procguard.sys if it is there.
In the windows\system32 folder delete pghash.dat and pguard.dat.

    Reboot your PC.

Now carefully follow the installation instructiond posted in this forum.

    Please report back your findings.

    Thank you. Pilli

After doing wat u told me to do, It now writes, Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. It is the 3.0 version.

Hi, ProcessGuard must be installed from an administrator's account or a user account with administrative capabilities.

Control panel - Computer Management - Users - Right click on the user account you were using to install ProcessGuard - Click properties and enure that "Member of" includes Administrator.

OK, Let's get back to basics, :)

What operating system are you using?

    What is your PC specification?

What other security software do you have running?

    Thanks. Pilli

You can't have been running in Safe Mode if you got an error about deleting procguard.sys. Can you be sure you delete that before we start ? If you did this and then reinstalled there would be no problems, did you do that ?

Start > Shut Down > restart computer
When it first starts wait a few seconds then start pressing F8 before you see the black screen and Windows loads
You get a menu, choose Safe Mode

As for install privileges I think it should be ok since you have installed a previous version at some stage. So just do the above - get to Safe Mode, delete procguard.sys, then come back and report to us that you have done so.

Oh well it happened again. After restarting my computer and clicked on the process guard, it opens for like less then a second and it switches off.

Not sure what is going on there? I wonder one of two thngs, do you have any form of registry blocking running as I not sure what addins Norton AV has nowadays'
The ATI GFX card catalyst deivers can be problematical on some PCs so it would be handy if you could find out any information about your graphics card.

    Thanks. Pilli
