HELP with ESS v.3 Manual Scanning

Every time I do manual scanning and detect some virus, it just detects and reports it and does not automatically clean or quarantine it. I have checked all the that must be checked and even configure it to Strict Cleaning, but then the same thing happens it just detects and reports it that it found a virus but not automatically clean the virus.. Can anyone help me or explain? tnx! I appreciate your reply and help

When running a manual scan, the default action is to clean if possible. If it can't clean it, then it will prompt you. If it can't clean the file in question, it is probably because it is in use or has altered permissions. You can try running a scan in safe mode to see if it can clean it from there.

 

tnx for your reply but that's not the problem ill give you an example... I've scan a flash drive with a petty virus, actually you can manually erase it, but then when you try scanning it with ESS it just claims that it had found a virus and does not erase it, dunno whats the problem then it must clean it. It just a minor problem but it must not act like that, try doing it, put a virus in a flash drive but dont open the rive, just plug it then scan it right away, and oh, use ESS v.3

Are you running a Custom Scan or a Smart Scan? If you're doing a Custom Scan, are you making sure to NOT check the box "Scan without cleaning?"
